Ferrari 360 Modena

This is the first installment of what I am calling my “Feature Car Through the Years”. What this means is that I have been lucky enough to compile many photos over the years and this is my way of showing my favorite photos of that make. Not only that, but posts will also include information like company press releases and photos that feature different options. All photos that are posted are ones that I have taken from different years and different locations, Press releases are from Ferrari and are located at the bottom of the post.
The first car I am going to feature is the Ferrari 360 Modena. The 360 was produced from 1999-2005 in three road going body style variations; Modena(1999), Spider(2000), Challenge Stradale(2003).
Modena
“The 360 Modena is a clean-sheet design which anticipates trends for future Ferrari road cars. These include lower weight combined with greater chassis rigidity – seemingly contrasting objectives that have been achieved by employing innovative construction technology. The 360 Modena is the first production Ferrari to be constructed entirely in aluminium. Chassis, bodyshell and suspension wishbones are all made from this light-weight material, allowing the engineers to provide the best overall performance and handling ever achieved in a mid-engined Ferrari, along with levels of comfort unheard of before.”

Spider
“The 360 Spider is Ferrari’s 20th road-going convertible and is a record breaker in two quite different ways. Without doubt it is the best spider Maranello has ever produced in terms of engineering, looks and performance. And, thanks to the exclusive experience Ferrari has accumulated as a Formula 1 constructor, it is the most technologically advanced convertible available today. Despite the car’s mid-mounted V8 engine Ferrari’s engineers have found a way of creating a hood that automatically folds away inside the engine bay, thus ensuring purity of line. The intrinsic quality of the design is underlined by the two fairings in the bodywork to the rear of the seats which evoke memories of classic sports cars. These are matched by the two roll bars that add the final touch to providing maximum safety for the car’s two occupants.”

Challenge Stradale
“The Challenge Stradale lines up alongside the 360 Modena and 360 Spider with the precise aim of providing drivers the performances that only a true racing car for road use can provide.
The experiences coming from the Ferrari Challenge International Championships and the FIA GT races, have allowed Ferrari technicians to develop solutions that make the Challenge Stradale really unique.
This strong link to racing is underlined not only by a significant weight reduction, but also by its engine set up, aerodynamics, braking system and F1 style gearbox.”
