Nikon FG Kodak 200
One of my favorite things about film beyond the look that digital just can not replicate is that for me at least, the roll last a long time so once its developed past memory’s that I have forgotten come back to life. Part 1

Ever since health class when my teacher said you could get crabs from dirty hotel rooms I have had issues sleeping in them, even nice ones give me the chills. These photos are from one of those nights when I could not stop thinking about that and there for could not sleep.
Not from the hotel but another night i could not sleep, not for the same reason
Over the weekend while at my parents house I found a box of film from one of my first photo classes. Photos are taken with a Nikon FG, Mostly Kodak 400TMY film. Looking at the photos i’m pretty sure i did not use any of these in class but with some editing i like them so i wanted to share.

While photographing cars one of my favorite things to do is look for perfect detail. Almost every car has some perfect line, shape, or detail that can be beautiful by it self. While classic cars tend to have much more interesting lines then modern cars, modern cars also have the opportunity for that perfect abstraction. Not only do i find the more abstract photos beautiful i also love nicely done emblem photos. Most of this comes from when i was growing up and starting to learn about photography i used to stop by the local dealer (Williams Auto World) at least once a week, i was also lucky enough to have parents that would drive me to the Ferrari Dealership (Cauley Ferrari) once a month or so. Both dealers were always nice and let me photograph their cars, I don’t know if it was because i was youngish that they were nice or i like to think that they saw the passion i had for automobiles.
While dealers are not a great place to go for photos in general they do force you to look for those details, those abstractions the metal forms. Below are some of my favorite details along with the location they were taken at.
As with almost all of the photo’s on my site, the photo of the day are available for print through Smugmug services. When you place an order from this site Smugmug processes your order and fulfills them through professional print labs that provide stunning prints. At no point do I see your payment information or personal information, this offers you the tightest security and Smugmug’s great reputation.
I have only shot 3 rolls of film with this camera but it offers something fun and different to my normal shooting using Nikon DSLR’s. This is the first film camera i have used in three years since i was working on my minor at college. For people that have never seen this camera before it is a plastic film camera that has three settings; L(lock) B(Bulb) N(Normal, meaning f8 at 1/100). I guess there are two other “settings”, multiple exposure along with a built in flash and a hot-shoe. I hate to admit it but i wasted my first roll of fill spinning it the wrong way :/
With 170 degree view the camera gives a nice fisheye effect that works great for fun photos.
