The more I shoot film the more I love it, the more I shoot classic cars with film the more I realize it is the best way to shoot classic cars. This roll was some Fuji 400 with my Nikon FG, the grain looks amazing when the photo is larger.

This last one is digital

One of my favorite things about film beyond the look that digital just can not replicate is that for me at least, the roll last a long time so once its developed past memory’s that I have forgotten come back to life. Part 1

Over the weekend while at my parents house I found a box of film from one of my first photo classes. Photos are taken with a Nikon FG, Mostly Kodak 400TMY film. Looking at the photos i’m pretty sure i did not use any of these in class but with some editing i like them so i wanted to share.

It sounds strange but there is something interesting about dumpsters, each thing has a story...some better then others but you never really know. I picture Samuel L. Jackson throwing someone out a window onto them (think Pulp Fiction)

In a recent post I discussed my growing love for film with my Lomo Fisheye 2, well since then i have also dusted off my dad’s old Nikon FG that I also used to help me complete my degree in photography. I have now developed around 7 rolls from the Lomo and only one with the FG however I only need a few more photos
to finish off the roll of 36 Lomography COLOR negative (400) film. I bought the film for use in my Lomo camera but I thought that I would give it ago in the Nikon. This is my first time using the 400 film so I’m excited to see the results, I have tried the 100 and liked the look.
While taking classes I loathed the thought off film, digital was just better in my mind at the time and I never really gave it a chance. The more that I use it now the more I see why some people say they hope film never goes away, it just has that look, the unmistakable look of film. While in the past companies reporting that they were cutting film production did not bother me now it does because I have become hooked. Even though film can be altered the same way a digital photo can be something about film just feels so much more authentic, possessing a passion that digital can not hold.
If anyone else feels the same way please comment and if you can I would love to see your film photos.

I have only shot 3 rolls of film with this camera but it offers something fun and different to my normal shooting using Nikon DSLR’s. This is the first film camera i have used in three years since i was working on my minor at college. For people that have never seen this camera before it is a plastic film camera that has three settings; L(lock) B(Bulb) N(Normal, meaning f8 at 1/100). I guess there are two other “settings”, multiple exposure along with a built in flash and a hot-shoe. I hate to admit it but i wasted my first roll of fill spinning it the wrong way :/
With 170 degree view the camera gives a nice fisheye effect that works great for fun photos.
